With your support we were able to make many new friends, exceed our fundraising goals, and ultimately make an impact on the lives of many through the American Lung Association!

February 27th Please join us at Akebono in downtown Des Moines for a Japanese dinner experience benefitting the Cowles Montessori students that are traveling to Yamanashi, Japan this summer. Akebono is donating all of the proceeds from the dinner to the students. There will be a henna tattoo artist on site to add to the festivities. If you can't make it to the event there is a donation option on the ticket link if you would still like to support the student exchange. Over the years, Des Moines Public Schools has built a special relationship with the people and schools of Kofu, Yamanashi’s capital city. The exchange began in 1983, making it one of the longest running student exchanges in America. 2016 marked 33 years of student and teacher exchanges with Kofu, Japan.-
